Xperium Pro 2025 Challenge: A Day to Envision the Transitions of Tomorrow

The Xperium Pro Challenge, designed for vocational programs, was recently held at the University of Lille. Jointly organized by the University of Lille and the Lille Academy’s Office of Education, this event is part of a strong commitment to project-based learning and forward-looking innovation.

This edition brought together numerous partners committed to economic, industrial, and societal transitions: the Hauts-de-France Regional Council, the I-SITE Université Lille Nord Europe Foundation (Initiative France 2030), 135BPM, EuraMaterials, and EDF.

Plans for today, tomorrow…
, and 30 years from now

Divided into 10 groups with diverse backgrounds and perspectives, the students took on the challenge of designing an innovative project in a single day, based on major themes for the future:

  • the materials of the future,
  • the mobility solutions of tomorrow,
  • the food of the future,
  • Digital transformation,
  • more efficient learning,
  • and, more broadly, projects to be conceived for the future and by 2056.

In this context, EuraMaterials has proposed two themes that are central to current industrial and environmental challenges:

  • an urgent transition to alternative materials,
  • the use of materials in 2056.

Creativity, boldness, and team spirit

Throughout the day, the students demonstrated great creativity, strong teamwork, and a remarkable ability to envision innovative scenarios. The final pitches—which were bold, well-structured, and inspiring—reflected the high quality of the work accomplished under tight deadlines.

The presentations, recorded on video, allow you to relive these highlights and discover the wealth of ideas proposed by the participants. You can view the projects starting at the 55-minute mark in the video recap of the Xperium Pro 2025 Challenge:

Training talent to address the challenges of transition

Through the Xperium Pro Challenge, the University of Lille and its partners are reaffirming their commitment to training the talent of tomorrow by giving them hands-on experience with the major challenges of technological, environmental, and societal transition, while fostering innovation, collaboration, and engagement with the professional world.
