EU-TEXTILE2020 • A European textile ‘super cluster
Eight European textile competitiveness clusters gathered together for the EU-TEXTILE2020 project to develop and implement shared strategies to help safeguard, strengthen, reinforce and extend their competitiveness globally.
The aim was to create the first European ‘super cluster’ in the Advanced Materials & Textiles sector.
The EU-TEXTILE2020 project opened the door to a number of initiatives, including trade fairs, business trips and workshops in five target countries (Japan, South Korea, Canada, Brazil and Tunisia).
The members of these eight clusters – 860 businesses, research laboratories and technical centres – had the opportunity to explore new markets and commercial and technological partnerships.
The EU-TEXTILE2020 project ended in 2014.
