EU-TEXTILE2030 • Advanced Textile Materials – World Class Cluster
EU-TEXTILE2030 pursued the initiatives started by the EU-TEXTILE2020 project, which came to an end in 2014.
The EU-TEXTILE2030 project aimed to:
- create a European advanced textile materials super cluster
- increase the international competitiveness of Europe’s textile businesses
- develop commercial and technological partnerships with joint missions in four regions: Colombia, South Africa, Israel, and Japan-Taiwan-South Korea
The EU-TEXTILE2030 project partners focused on the advanced textile materials industry, delivering textile solutions with specific functions as main criteria for diverse applications.
Between 2017 and 2019, the EU-TEXTILE2030 project organised several internationalisation initiatives, including five commercial assignments in the target markets: Colombia, South Africa, Israel, Japan and Taiwan.
These assignments included the preparation of market studies, meetings between stakeholders, memorandums of understanding to promote the international expansion of European businesses, and joint stands at various trade fairs (Colombia Moda 2018, ATF 2018 and TITAS 2019).
In addition to these assignments, networking events were organised across Europe, such as Techtextile, ITMA 2019 and an end-of-project event.
The EU-TEXTILE2030 project paved the way for numerous European businesses in the sector to create commercial opportunities and work with international organisations.
An EU-TEXTILE2030 EEIG was created to ensure that the initiatives and opportunities begun by this European project could continue.
