GRASS • Safe, sustainable fire-retardant artificial grass

The purpose of GRASS (Gazons aRtificiels Anti-feu Sûrs et durableS, or safe, sustainable fire-retardant artificial grass) is to raise the general public’s awareness of the different burning behaviour of natural grass and artificial grass. It also hopes to improve the burning behaviour of artificial grass by developing innovative, environmentally friendly processes that can be used on an industrial scale.

A task force of fitters, sports clubs, authorities and end users has been created to participate in the project together. Involving all the sector stakeholders ensures that technical innovations are fit for purpose, from the production to the use of artificial grass and right up to the moment it is recycled
