ZEETEX • Bringing together the maritime and textile sectors
The ZEETEX project wanted to encourage textile and marine stakeholders to grasp opportunities together and develop innovative textile products for maritime applications.
The partners started by mapping all the strategic information relevant to the project: requirements, potential, perspectives, etc.
Next, an entire economic and scientific network was mobilised through workshops, to pinpoint the requirements of each party and identify opportunities.
Businesses in the two sectors had the opportunity to meet each other and pursue economic development.
Flanders and Hauts-de-France are home to a world-class maritime industry as well as a large textile industry that is shifting towards the production of technical textiles. At the time, there was no structural interaction between the two sectors.
